VETERAN campaigner Jayson Salubre reaped top honors by virtue of higher tie break points in the recently concluded 85 man-field 1st PSSUPT Cedrick Train Chess Cup Non-Master 2050 Below Rapid rating was held at the No.40 Solar St., Bel-air village 3, Brgy. Bel-air in Makati City, over the weekend.
Salubre finished 6.0 points along with four others in the event organized by Col. Jimmy Santos and supervised by CAAP officials headed by lawyer Gene Turqueza, Alfredo Chay, Raul Cruz and Gatz Luz.
Tied for 2nd to 5th placers also with six points were Joseph Balmaceda, Richieliu Salcedo III, Jerry Areque, and Jan Nigel Galan of the La Salle Greenhills.
Adjudged category winner were Sherwin Tiu (top junior), Joel Cocjin (top senior), Ezra Joy Templonuevo and Jerad Docena (top kiddie).
