MICHELLA CONCIO, 2008 Philippine Olympic Festival gold medallist heads the cast when the kiddies, 14 years old and below division of the 3rd Letran Calamba Non-Master Rapid Chess Championships gets going on July 12 , 8 am at the 3rd floor, Nursing Bldg., Letran College, Brgy. Bucal, Calamba City, Laguna.

The champion getting the lion share of P5,000 plus trophy, (with trophies), 2nd place - P3,000, 3rd place - P2,000, 4th place - P1,000, 5th place - P750 and 6th to 10th place - P500 each.Top Categories: Under 10, 8, 6, Lady, and Letran Player -P500 each. Kiddie players must bring proof of age.

Other early entries that includes 2009 Palarong Pambansa silver medallist (elementary division) Michelle Yaon, Nicole Ann Pedrina, Clyde Dexter de Guzman, Allysa May Miguel, Jairo Elomina, Carl Angelo Perez, Zhyrel Pedrina, John Joseph Gimutao, Hansle Bella and Daryl Inacay.

In the Non-Masters category, already registered are Bryan Cyril Martinez, Cesar Nikko Sechico, Michaela Angeline Fajardo, Chairmaine Casimina, Rochelle and Michelle Espina, Christine Kei Fernandez, Henry Boroc, Vermont Leynard Alveyra, eng’r Roy Manaloto, eng’r Edwin Lorenzo and Rico Belicina,

Tournament organizer Dr. Alfredo Paez said that the six (6) Round swiss system tournament is open to all untitled chess players who are good standings with NCFP and their respective chess associations.

The winner will receive P5,000 cash prizes  plus trophy, P3,000 for 2nd, P2,000 for 3rd, P1,000 for 4th, P750 for 5th and P500 each for 6th to 10th placers. Top Categories: Lady, Executive, Senior, Junior and Letran player also receive P500 each.
