REIGNING 12 and under champion Paulo Bersamina of Pasay City scored his back-to-back championships after topping the 1st Councilor Junjun Binay Open Age-Group Chess Tournament over the weekend in Makati City.
The Meralco Chess Club prodigy Bersamina scored 6.5 points, barely missing a perfect route once again, a point clear off the second and third best finishers La Salle Greenhills pride Giovanni Mejia and Far Eastern University-FERN ace Jose Castro, respectively, who both posted 5.5 points in the event organized by NAPCA boss Boyet Tardecilla.
Last week, Bersamina also captured the kiddies title in the Panabenga 2010 in Baguio City via a perfect performance.
