COUNT the Qatar 9-ball open championship to the growing list of crown finish top gunner Mika “The Iceman” Immonen has collected.
Immonen, the 2001 world pool champion, used precise pocketing to beat reigning two-time world junior champion Taiwanese Ko Pin-yi, 13-9, in the finals on Monday in Doha, Qatar enroute to the coveted plum plus the top prize money of US$40,000.
Ko, received US$20,000 for runner-up place. Losing semifinalist Filipino Antonio Gabica and Briton Darren Appleton, the 2008 World Ten Ball champion got US$10,000.
