MAYOR, ORBE LEADS PHILWEB-HUMAN PLUS GRAND FINALS

MANILA, PHILIPPINES—RP six-time executive champion Dr. Jenny Mayor and Laywer Cliburn Orbe leads the cast in their respective divisions when the much awaited Philweb Human Plus National Executive Grand Prix Active Chess Championships-Grand Finals gets underway on Saturday, January 23 at the 3rd level of Alphaland South Gate Mall, EDSA corner Pasong Tamo, Makati City (near Magallanes MRT Terminal).

Aside from Mayor, other finalist in the Group A are Fide Master Randy Segarra, national masters Allan Macalla, Allan Sasot, Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr., Mirabeau Maga, Ali Branzuela and Efren Bagamasbad. Meantime, joining Orbe in the Group B are Joel Cocjin, Richie Evangelista, Ricardo Jimenez, Primo Virtudazo, Ric Pena dela, Verth Alora and Emil Chua.

Organized by the Philippine Association of Chess Executives (PACE) hosted by Philweb Corporation led by lawyer Cliburn Orbe, the nine-round Swiss tournament will have a time control of 25 minutes per game per player.
