MAGPANTAY HEADS THE CAST OF THE 1ST PAGCOR-KABAYAN BILYAR-ARALAN 9-BALL CHALLENGE

MANILA, PHILIPPINES—WORLD Junior Pool Championship veteran Jonas Magpantay heads the cast of the 1st PAGCOR-Kabayan Bilyar-aralan 9-Ball Challenge beginning June 5.
The venue will be announced later.
Magpantay, 15, recently graduated from Pedro Tuason Elementary School in Cubao, Quezon City. He is the youngest qualifier in this year’s Philippine 10-Ball Open.
The tournament supported by Vice-President Noli “Kabayan” De Castro, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) aims to encourage young billiard players to pursue their studies and also promote the sport among students.
Registration is free. Interested parties may contact Noli Cruz, president of the organizing Lion’s Den Enterprises, at 4928028 or 0929-8357770.
At stake in the three-day event is a total of P50,000 with the champion getting P20,000.
Marlon Manalo, one of the few Filipino pool players armed with college degree, will be the guest of honor in the tournament. He will also give playing tips to the participants.
The players must present their report cards or class cards from School Year 2008-09 to join the competition.
