“MAESTRO MONCHING” MISTICA TOPS 2ND CALIFORNIA POOL PLAYERS STOP

FILIPINO Ramon “Maestro Monching” Mistica flashed his old deadly form beating Mexican Ernesto Dominguez, 9-6, in the finals to emerged over-all champion in the just concluded the 2nd California Pool Players Stop was held last July 17 and 18 at the Break Time Billiards in Modesto, California.
Mistica, who is best to remember beating Filipino pool legend Jose “Amang” Parica in the mid 80’s went home the top prize of $1,000 in this 9-ball competition.
Dominguez, on the other hand, take home with the runner-up purse of $550.
California-based Filipino Deo Mark Alpajora settled for third with $300 followed by fourth placer Teymour Ansari of India for $200.
Chicago-based Filipino Santos “The Saint” Sambajon from Quezon Province joints 5th to 6th placers with American Paul Mc Caffrey for $175 each.
