LETRAN CALAMBA CHESS BEGINS TODAY

THE 3rd Letran Calamba Non-Master and Kiddies Rapid Chess Championships, which fires-off today, Sunday, July 12 at the 3/F Nursing Building, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Calamba City.
Tournament organizer Dr. Alfredo Paez said that the six-round Swiss system tournament is open to all untitled chess players who have good standings with the National Chess Federation of the Philippines and their respective chess associations.
The winner will receive a P5,000 cash prize plus trophy. The second placer will receive P3,000 cash prize plus trophy, and the third gets P2,000 cash prize plus trophy. Fourth to 5th placers also gets P1,000 and P750 each plus medals. The categories include Lady, Executive, Senior, Junior and Kiddie divisions.
