HIOLEN TOPS STAR TIGER CUP 10-BALL TOURNEY; POCKETS P25,000

LITTLE-KNOWN Julito Hiolen turned back Florencio Gonzales in the finals to emerged over-all champion in the June edition of Star Tiger Cup 10-ball tournament at the Star Billiards Center in Grace Village, Quezon City, over the weekend.

Hiolen went home the top prize of P25,000 plus Universal Cue Case in the event hosted by long-time billiards patron and Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines (BSCP) president Sebastian “Baste” Chua.

Gonzales, meantime received the runner-up purse of P10,000 in the event supervised by Joyren, Michael and Anthony.

Losing-semi-finalists Marvin Pastor and Rio Gabon pocketed P5,000 each for their effort. The top four finishers also received Star Cues stick courtesy of Chua.

Fifth to 8th placers are Romeo Silvano, Sherwin Malinao, Francisco Lagulao and Pablito Ardonza who received P2,000 each.
