VETERAN campaigner Eduardo “Egay” Estrella scored 6 points in seven outings to rules the just concluded 1st Saturday Non-Master Magnolia chess tournament held last October 3, 2009 at 4th Floor Doña Soledad cor. Australia Sts, Better Living, Parañaque City.

Estrella, who hails from Singalong, Manila received P 3,000 plus a trophy and gift pack from Magnolia for his effort. Clement Valledor and Ric Dela Peña came second to third placers while local bet Raymond Leonard Reyes settled fourth in this one-day event, backed up by Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Barangay Don Bosco Chairman Jun Virata and Magnolia Health Tea Drinks which attracted 65 players

Other special award winner are; Top Senior-Cecil Padua, Top Kiddie-Jerad Docena and Top Lady-Jan Jodilyn Fronda of Letran. They all received P 500 plus trophies and Magnolia Gift Packs.

Next leg will be on November 7 at Perez Building and the activity which is organized by Barangay Don Bosco Chess Club in cooperation with the Tournament Manager NAPCA-National Association of Philippine Chess Arbiters.
