JUSTIN DAVID CORPIN and Daryl Samantila shared the limelight in the just concluded 1st edition of National Book Store-First Move Chess Tournament Series was held at the Robinson’s Galleria Mall in Ortigas over the weekend.
Corpin tallied 5 points to capture the title in the Under-15 division. Jerome Saltorio and John Eric Margarito came second and third with 4 points each.
In the Under-11 Division, Samantila, one of the top player of Adamson University emerged champion with 5 points while 2009 Las Vegas International Chess Festival titlist Stephen Rome Pangilinan settled for solo second place with 4.5 points.
Meanwhile, all roads to Angeles City when the 2010 Atty. Edgardo D. Pamintuan Chess Cup gets going on April 3, Saturday, 9 a.m. at the Marquee Mall Center stage in Angeles City, Pampanga.
