CALASANG BEATS MASON; POCKETS P50,000 IN ABC POOL TOUR

FORMER Middle East pool instructor Elvis Calasang came up to his personal expectation by crushing rising upstart Jundel Mason, 10-9, in the finals of the just- concluded 2nd ABC Pool Tour Category A, Open division over the weekend at the Star Billiards Center, No.46 Joy St., Grace Village, Quezon City.

Calasang received the top prize of P50,000 in the event which is organized by Ark Foundation, sanctioned by the Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines (BSCP) and hosted by Star Billiards Center.

“ Masayang-masaya po ako sa pagkapanalo ko sa event na ito, marami din kasing malalakas na kasali at mahirap din y’ung dinaan natin na qualifying round para makarating ng finals,” said Calasang.

Runner-up Mason received P20,000 while Victor Arpilleda and John Rebong went home with P10,000 each for placing third and fourth, respectively.

Other renowned cue masters failed to advance the championships round were Joven Bustamante, Jharome Pena, Carlo Biado, Mario Tolentino, Jech Limen, Manolo Tanasas, Benjie Guevarra, Panfilo Damuag, Victor Arpilleda, Leonardo Didal, Marvin Tapia, Rainier Espejo and Jonas Magpantay.
