“BUTCH” PICHAY HEADS FBRP

LOCAL Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) chairman Prospero “Butch” Pichay Jr. has accepted the challenge to lead the newly-formed Federation of Bancaton Racing of the Philippines (FBRP).

Pichay will serve as president of the association, which will be responsible in organization boat races in the country.

Joining Pichay in the association are Atty. Gabriel Octavio, journalist Rommy Torilla, Raymond Aquino, Benny Lim and Rudy Salud.

According to Torilla, Pichay’s entry is expected to boost the popularity of boat racing in the country.

“Isang malaking karangalan sa amin na pamunuan ni Chairman (Butch Pichay) ang FBRP. Naniniwala kami na malaki ang maitutulong ni Chairman sa pagpapalawig ng boat racing industry sa ating bansa. Isa siyang magaling na lider at talagang may pagmamahal sa larangan ng pampalakasan. Nagawa na niya y’an sa Surfing, Basketball at Chess,” said Torilla.

The FBRP will be the fourth association to be headed by Pichay.

The former lawmaker from first district of Surigao is also the head of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP), Basketball Association of the Philippines and Philippine Surfing Federation.
