CARLO “COOL” BIADO, the pride of La Union another feather on his capped by winning the congressman Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao 10-ball tournament in General Santos City late Tuesday.
Biado, member of the Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP) headed by chairman Isaac Belmonte defeated Johann “Bubwit” Chua, 15-5, in the finals to receive the top prize P1 million in this event hosted by seven-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, an avid pool enthusiasts also the newly-elected Sarangani representative.
On the road to the finals, Biado from Perry Mariano’s Bugsy Promotions edged Jundel Mazon, 11-10, in the semi-final round to arrange a titular showdown with Chua, who beat Elvis Calasang, 11-8.
Chua settled for runner-up prize of P400,000. Losing semi-finalists Mazon and Calasang pocketed P100,000 each in the event supervised by RP trick shot champion Julie “Falcon” Guevarra and Troy Danao.
